Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy (also called a “Colonic” or “Colon Irrigation”) is the process of gently cleansing and exercising the large intestine with purified, temperature-controlled water. This helps remove waste and restore proper function.

What should I do to prepare?

Avoid heavy food within 2 hours of your session and stay well-hydrated the day of and the day before your appointment.

Is the process messy or uncomfortable?

No. The process is clean and comfortable. All waste is eliminated into the basin underneath the table during your session, and you remain in a reclined position the entire time.

Will someone be in the room with me?

Yes. A therapist supervises your session to answer questions and provide help if needed. This is your cleanse—we simply provide the equipment, instructions, and support to make it effective for you.

How many sessions do I need?

That depends on the health of your colon, which is influenced by diet, lifestyle, medications, and other factors. You can discuss a personalized plan with your therapist during your session.

Does it hurt?

No. Most people find the experience calm and relaxing—many even read or use their phones during the cleanse.

Can I return to work after my session?

Yes. Time is allotted at the end of your session to release any remaining water or waste so you can comfortably continue your day.

What should I do after my session?

You may eat right away, but avoid red meat, pork, and raw vegetables for 24–48 hours to prevent gas or indigestion. Chicken, turkey, fish, and cooked or steamed vegetables are recommended.

What about probiotics and enzymes?

We recommend first getting probiotics and digestive enzymes from foods in your diet. If you feel you’re not getting enough, your therapist can suggest food sources or supplements to support your digestive health.

Can I cleanse if I’m on my period?

Yes! In fact, this can be a good time since your body is already in a cleansing process. We only ask that you wear a tampon during your session.

Will I lose weight?

Some weight loss is possible if you eliminate a significant amount of solid waste. However, since the colon also absorbs water, weight loss is not a reliable way to measure the benefits of a session.

Will my insurance cover Colon Hydrotherapy?

No. However, you may use Flex Spending or Health Benefits cards (credit or debit) as payment.

Is this a Colonoscopy?

No. A colonoscopy is a medical procedure to examine the colon. Colon Hydrotherapy is a non-medical treatment designed solely to cleanse the colon.
